Coronel Marcelino Maridueña
Colonel Marcelino Maridueña is a canton in the province of Guayas, in the Republic of Ecuador. Its cantonal head is the city of Coronel Marcelino Maridueña located 60 km from the city of Guayaquil. It is located east of the province, settled at 80 m. S. N. M., its average temperature is 24°C and an average annual rainfall of 1700 mm. It receives its name from Colonel Marcelino Maridueña Quezada, a prominent military man who fought in the Liberal Revolution. Coronel Marcelino Maridueña canton of the province of Guayas, was created by the H. National Congress of Ecuador, by law issued on January 7,1992, its President being Dr. Sixto Durán-Ballén Córdovez.
