Black River is one of the districts of Mauritius on the west side of the island. Its most famous places include the Tamarin waterfalls. The capital of the district is the city of Tamarin. On the surface, it is the largest district in Mauritius, but the smallest in population. It contains a large part of the country's tropical forests.
