Imereti
The Imereti region is one of the ten administrative regions in which Georgia is organized since 1996, which corresponds to a large extent to the historical and geographical region of the same name. It comprises a territory of 6552 km² and has a population of 699,890 inhabitants. Imericia is located in the central part of Georgia, in the basin of the middle reaches of the Rioni River and its tributaries. Its capital and largest city is Kutaisi, which is the second largest city in Georgia. Georgian is the mother tongue of the entire population of the region, also an important part speaks Russian especially in the cities.
