Lori
Lori, sometimes, Lori is one of the provinces of Armenia. It is in the north of the country, on the border with Georgia. The capital is Vanadzor, other important towns are Estepanavan, Alaverdi and Spitak. In it there are two areas considered World Heritage of Unesco, the monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin. Also worth mentioning is the Ajtala monastery, 185 kilometers north of Yerevan, where Armenians, Georgians and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20 and 21. The province, communicated by the Stepanavan airport, was severely punished by the 1988 Armenian earthquake.
