Coamo
Coamo is a municipality of Puerto Rico. Founded on July 15,1570 by Cristóbal y Blas de Illescas, marking it as one of the oldest towns on the island after San Juan and San Germán, it became an autonomous municipality in 1579. Its original name was San Blas de Illescas but then it was changed by Coamo, a Taíno word that means "flat and extensive place". Area in which the Indians were located and called Coamex.
