Saipan
Saipan is the largest island in the United States Insular Associated Free State of the Northern Mariana Islands located in the western Pacific Ocean. Its political and administrative capital is Garapan. The island has an extension of 115.39 km², and a population of 62 392 inhabitants according to the 2000 census. It is located 200 km north of Guam, is about 20 km long and 9 km wide. Its highest point is Mount Tapochau with 474 masl, considered by some an extinct volcano, it is actually a limestone formation.
