Lambayeque
Lambayeque is one of the twenty-four departments that make up the Republic of Peru. Its capital is Chiclayo. It is located in the northwest of the country, bounded on the north by Piura, on the east by Cajamarca, on the south by La Libertad and on the west by the Pacific Ocean. With 14 231 km² it is the second least extensive department -before Tumbes- and with 78.2 inhabitants / km², the second most densely populated, behind Lima. It was founded on January 7,1872.
