Guainía
Guainía is one of the thirty-two departments that, together with Bogotá, Distrito Capital, form the Republic of Colombia. Its capital is Inírida. It is located in the eastern part of the country, in the Amazonia region, bordering Vichada to the north, Venezuela to the east, Brazil to the south, Vaupes to the southwest and Guaviare to the west. With 72 238 km² it is the fifth largest department -behind Amazonas, Vichada, Caquetá and Meta-, with about 40,000 inhabitants. In 2015, the least populated and with 0.56 hab / km², the least densely populated. Formerly it was a police station, but since 1991 it is officially a department.
