Las Tunas is a province in eastern Cuba that occupies the ninth place in extension with 6587.75 square kilometers, representing 6.0 percent of the total area of ​​the country. It houses 4.8 percent of the Cuban population with 532,665 inhabitants, with a density of 81.1 inhabitants per square kilometer. The city of Las Tunas is its capital and the most populated urban nucleus. It is also one of the youngest provinces since it was created in 1975, conforming to territories belonging to the old provinces of Camagüey and Oriente.
