Cerro Largo
Cerro Largo is one of the nineteen departments that make up the Eastern Republic of Uruguay. Its capital is Melo. It is located in the center east of the country, bounded on the north by the Negro River, which separates it from Tacuarembó and Rivera, on the east with Brazil, on the southeast with the Merín lagoon that separates it again from Brazil, on the south with Treinta y Tres and to the west with Durazno. With 13 648 km² it is the fourth largest department -behind Tacuarembó, Salto and Paysandú-.
