San Pedro
San Pedro is one of the seventeen departments that, together with Asunción, the Capital District, form the Republic of Paraguay. Its capital is San Pedro de Ycuamandiyú and its most populated city, San Estanislao. It is located in the center of the eastern region of the country, bounded on the north by Concepción, on the northeast by Amambay, on the east by Canindeyú, on the south by Caaguazu and Cordillera, and on the west by the Paraguay river that separates it from Presidente Hayes. With 419 629 habs. In 2017 it is the fifth most populated department -behind Central, Alto Parana, Itapua and Caaguazú- and with 20 002 km² it is the fourth most extensive, behind Boquerón, Alto Paraguay and Presidente Hayes.
