Banjul
Banjul is the capital of Gambia, and is located within the division of the same name. The population of the city is only 34,828 inhabitants, and with the Great Banjul Zone, which includes the city of Banjul and the Municipal Council, it has a total population of 357,238. It is located on St. Mary Island, where the Gambia River empties into the Atlantic Ocean. The island is connected to the mainland by passenger and vehicle ferries and by several bridges.
