Kirinyaga
Kirinyaga County is a county of Kenya. It is located in the former Central Province and its capital is the conurbation formed by the towns of Kerugoya and Kutus. The total population of the county is 528 054 inhabitants according to the 2009 census. It is a rural county but densely populated. The northern third of the county is occupied by the Mount Kenya National Park. The Kerugoya and Kutus capitals, 10 km distant from each other, make up the main local authority, of some forty thousand inhabitants. In the county there is only another local authority: the small village of Sagana, located in the vicinity of Muranga.
