Ağdam
Ağdam is a district in southwestern Azerbaijan, and the same name has the capital city of Rayon, which is now considered a ghost town. The city housed more than 160,000 residents at one time. Due to the current controversy over the Republic of Upper Karabakh, the city, Ağdam, has been under Armenian control since July 1993. Most of the refugees from Agdam now live in makeshift camps and cities in the region of Barda and Sumgait. Most rayon is currently controlled by Armenian forces.
