Seenu
The Seenu Atoll or Addu is an atoll located at the southern end of the Republic of Maldives, in the Indian Ocean. Only six of the atoll islands are inhabited: Meedhoo, Hithadhoo, Maradhoo, Feydhoo, Gan, and Hulhudhoo with a total population of just over 28,000. A dialect of the Dhivehi language is spoken different from that used in the north of the country due to its geographical distance from the other atolls. There was a secessionist state between 1959 and 1963, the Republic of Suvadivas, which was not recognized by any country in the world.
