Gaborone
Gaborone is the capital of Botswana, with an estimated population of 208,411 inhabitants. It is located in the valley of the Kgale and Oodi mountains, in the southeastern zone of Botswana. It is 15 kilometers from the border with South Africa and 358 kilometers from Pretoria. It is also the administrative capital of the southeast district. It is the headquarters of the Southern African Development Community. The organization was founded in 1980 with the objective of increasing the economic cooperation of its members and reducing dependence on South Africa. In Gaborone is the University of Botswana.
