Guam
Guam is an island located in the western Pacific, which is politically one of the fourteen unincorporated territories of the United States of America. It is one of the seventeen Non-Self-Governing Territories under the supervision of the United Nations Decolonization Committee, in order to eliminate colonialism. Guam was Spanish territory, ruled as part of the Captaincy General of the Philippines from the sixteenth century until 1898, when it was annexed in the context of the Spanish-American War. It is the largest and southern island of the Mariana Islands. The capital is the city of Agaña.
