Jacaltenango is a municipality located in the western highlands of the Republic of Guatemala, 385 kilometers from Guatemala City, in the department of Huehuetenango. It is known as the heart and center of the Huista region because of its geographical location, it is also historically and economically known as the "Capital of the Huistas" since it was the first founded town in the entire Popti 'Region.
